Types of CT Scans
Computed Tomography (CT) can be used to help diagnose, and plan the treatment,
for a range of medical conditions. Through its primary use as a means to build
up a detailed internal anatomical structure of the area of the body under investigation
the range of disorders that Computed Tomography can be used to help treat is
extensive.
Although normally used in conjunction with full body scans, CT is important
in the diagnosis of brain tumours, as well as cancers of the body which range
include; abdominal cancer (liver, spleen, kidney etc), chest cancers (heart,
lung cancer etc), pelvic cancer and cancer of the spleen.
