Symptoms of Cervical Cancer

With cervical cancer a woman usually does not have any symptoms until the cells turn into cancer and invade the deepest parts of the cervix or other pelvic organs.

Common symptoms in women with fully developed cervical cancer can include:

• Unusual bleeding

Bleeding between her periods or following sexual intercourse could be a symptom of cervical cancer in women. Also blood flow during periods may be heavier and last longer than usual.

• Vaginal discharge

Cervical cancer can cause a bloody or foul-smelling vaginal discharge

• Pain

Spontaneous pain in the pelvic area or pain during sex is a symptom of cervical cancer
