CT Scan and Myelogram

In cases where the nerves must be examined, some doctors may choose to combine the CT scan with a myelogram. A myelogram is a procedure in which a radiographically opaque dye (dye that shows up on x-rays) is injected into the sac around the nerve roots. The nerve roots then light up on the CT image. The combination of these two procedures provides excellent, extensive detail about the nerves and nerve roots.
